Job Summary :
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across all MEP project sites. This includes developing and enforcing policies to promote a safe work environment, conducting risk assessments, training staff, and ensuring adherence to legal and organizational HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and monitor company HSE policies, procedures, and standards at site level.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Risk Assessments for MEP activities.
- Ensure that electrical work activities are carried out safely.
- Monitor and ensure correct use of PPE by site workers and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; report findings and suggest corrective actions.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for staff and labor.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and first aid arrangements.
- Maintain all HSE documentation including daily safety reports, inspection logs, and permits.
- Liaise with government authorities for HSE compliance.
- Assist in preparing and submitting HSE reports to clients, consultants, and internal management.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in MEP or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local HSE regulations and construction safety standards.
- Familiarity with MEP systems and their associated safety requirements.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- HSE-related certifications.
- First Aid and Fire Fighting certification.
- Experience working on high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or industrial MEP projects.
